Tangyu (Asada Benji) Japanese Cherry Blossoms at Ninnaji Temple Kyoto Woodblock in period Frame

1950's Block print in Japanese frame with partial label from the market it was purchased at. Fantastic theme and colors and superbly done. Block signature noting artist, publisher, etc. (see picture). Overall mint condition print in very good frame for some edge chips and wear.

The artist, Asada Benji , who produced art under the name Tangyu won multiple awards in japan and was well known for his scenic woodblocks in the 1940's and 1950's. See pictures for full stamp, part of which is hidden by the mat. Matted center image portion is about 9 1/4" x 14 1/2" (though actual paper piece is slightly larger, see pictures) and frame exterior is 14" x 20". Outer edge of frame has some light scratches but overall the piece is excellent+++ and art itself is Mint.
