Just a guess on our part but we believe he is supposed to resemble Mark Twain. Either that or possibly a train conductor with the hat with unusually wide brim that juts out. Call him what you will this is a true rarity.

Almost 7" tall with hat that flips open to reveal compartment for fluid and the original wick that comes out his cigar for lighting cigars after purchase in a shop. The hat is hinged and a very small piece of the end of the hinge part on the hat has broken off but it does not effect the display or how the hat fits (see picture). The cigar has a crease/crack in the bottom rounded portion and could do with a spot solder to prevent the lose of the wick piece (see pictures). Buyer may also wish to replace this simple lead tube.

Appears to be either lead or a pot metal. Some Bronze coloring shows under his hat but interior has lead appearance.

3 1/2" oval base with decorative top and a slightly raised center portion where the man stands. base has some White patina.

Overall excellent condition.

Though we always do, we will pack this item with great care so you never need to ask. Briefly we will cut a heavy cardboard round tube to fit over the piece and insert packing about half way up the figure followed by a cardboard disc to keep it down low so it has no opportunity to reach the cigar but will hold the piece straight in the tube. This will be followed by at least one other box and we will try to make the piece both secure and immobile for shipping.
