Tear Sheets

Though hopefully not literally torn from the magazine, "tear sheet" is the general term given to advertising that appeared in magazines.  The advertisements run the gamut of products and values are increased with the inclusion of a then popular Movie or T.V. stars.  They make an inexpensive backdrop for many collections once they are slapped into a frame.

Though the practice of cutting ads from good condition magazines is generally frowned upon by collectors and Pop enthusiasts alike, the values of the total tear sheets in many magazines adds up to more than the magazine itself.  This is due mostly to the increase in audience created by the diversity of the ads and cross collectibility.
