How to "Ask Elle"

Here's your chance to get those nagging questions about Collectibles answered. Whether its about the items history, its value or the identification of a mystery item - Elle can help!

Ms. Elle Phant, our raconteur, historian and appraiser draws from many, many years of experience with Collectibles and Antiques. What she doesn't know off the top of her head she can usually research with her huge library of reference books and guides.

Elle will also pass along her thoughts about the Collectibles market in her "Elle's Thoughts" page Elle will choose questions from those submitted and will both respond directly to you as well as post the question and answer on the site . Obviously, she can't guarantee that your question will be answered but she's going to try hard to post as many as possible.

You best chance of inclusion is if you give plenty of information on the item in question (this is especially true if no picture accompanies your request). Elle can do very little with descriptions such as "I have a vase that is 6" tall and orange, how much is it worth?". Use your common sense as she is doing this "blind" and the more information the better.
Along that line, here are some common reasons why your question may not be answered.

All you need to do is to fill the form with the appropriate subject for your request.

Item history - background on your item and/or its manufacturer. (not for values!)
Item Value - how much is your item worth?
Item Identification - what the H*ll is your item? (not for values!)
General Collectibles question or suggestion for future article-please use this sparingly and make sure it does not fall into one of the above form categories.

Got a picture?, Great! (but read this carefully, it is VERY IMPORTANT!)

Best way is to Email the picture:
Pictures must be submitted in conjunction with her form, do not write your question on the picture Email.

• Simply send an email and DO NOT CHANGE THE SUBJECT or add any MESSAGE, just attach your picture.
  Note: Do not use this email link to send other messages, they may very likely be deleted, use this form

Please edit your pictures so that they are 120k or less (preferably) and try to get everything into one picture, pictures that are significantly more may be deleted prior to downloading. Pictures should be in JPEG or GIF format only. PLEASE NOTE: pictures significantly over 500k will be deleted prior to download and your request WILL NOT BE ANSWERED.
